Material Things
Giving thanks is a daily ritual of mine. As such, I decided that I would like to blog about something I’m passionate about and in doing so perhaps it may help just one person who is feeling down, to put a smile….if ever so slightly on their face.
These posts are meant to resonate and inspire. I plan on using my own life’s experiences as my cliff to jump off. Occasionally, I shall re-post from inspirational sayings that fit in with my own experiences. Being grateful!
In the fall of 2018, I visited Morocco on a yoga retreat. When the plane touched down in Casablanca (how romantic does that sound?) I awoke and stretched, noticing that a black and white diamond ring,(it was named Sticks & Stones) which I had purchased for myself 5 years earlier, was missing from my finger. This ring which I never removed. How did it go missing? I frantically looked on my seat, under my seat and under the seat in front of me as well. To no avail. I was upset. About 45 minutes later, as I was waiting for my connecting flight to Agadir, it came to me that it was just a ring. Obviously someone else needed it more than I and it did it’s job while I had it. You see….I purchased that ring for myself when I had separated from my husband of 39 years. Therefore, in doing it’s job, it had helped give me my wings. When I said that to myself, that in itself felt extremely healing. I had let it go! Truly let it go!
I am grateful for my health, family, friends, clients and working at a profession which is a true passion. There is no material thing I own which is more important than that.
